Project Manager

Location: Hot Springs, AR


Job Description
Our Hot Springs office is seeking Project Manager with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in consulting type role or 3+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer on complex integrated systems projects. This person will work on multiple projects with other engineers and designers, under the direct supervision of a Director of Operations, and be responsible for adhering to schedules and budgets for each project. They will ensure successful and profitable completion of projects assigned to him or her. We are looking for candidates that are highly self-motivated and detail oriented. To accomplish our project objectives, this position will require you to work in teams and have strong communication skills. There is potential to manage a team of 4-8 employees in other engineering disciplines for the execution of projects.


Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s of Science in engineering discipline or related field; or
• Five plus years of project management experience in a consulting engineering firm; or
• Three plus years of experience as a project engineer or similar role on complex integrated systems projects; or
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• MBA and/or PMP Certification a plus
PE License a plus
• Wood Product Experience desired (OSB, Particle Board, Sawmill, Biomass Projects, etc.)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
• Plan, organize and control all elements of a project.
• Reviews project plans and proposals, identifies project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project.
• Effectively exercise profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for projects.
• In collaboration with the Project Controls team, calculates time frames and sequences the stages of the project.
• Prepares and distributes a description of, a task list for, and a timeline of the project.
• Studies project design, customer requirements for performance standards, and then determines project specifications. Presents cost estimates and performance standards.
• In consultation with the Managers, requests appropriate workforce resources for his or her project. Works through the Group Managers to assign staff to specifics phases, tasks and elements of the project.
• Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversees and coordinates the technical aspects of the project.
• Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets and schedules per the Project Action Plan and Engineering Status Report processes.
• Approves expenditures charged to the project.
• Presents and enforces client standards, procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project.
• Provides on-site consultative services to the client when requested and within scope of the project.
• Monitors project scope and proactively consults with clients in regards to change orders and requests for additional project funding or deadline/deliverable adjustment.

Business Development:
• Client contacts- new and established.
• Proposal creation and presentations.
• Client maintenance and follow-up after project completion.

• Demonstrated knowledge in engineering principles, practices and methods, regulations, engineering project management methods, workplace safety, budgeting, employee supervision, and personnel management.
• Proven ability to effectively delegate authority to team members.
• Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects.
• Proven ability to negotiate back charges and settlements with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to communicate effectively within all ranks and across groups within and outside the organization, both oral and written.
• Ability to draft and manage comprehensive project plans to completion.
• Ability to proactively identify upcoming risks, issues, bottlenecks, and other threats to project cash flow and develop appropriate contingencies.
• Must possess well-developed problem-analyzing and problem-solving skills and must be capable of independent decision-making.
• Must be able to conduct business in a professional manner with internal customers, external clients, and field personnel.
• MS Office Skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must be willing to support a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
• Ability to work to time constraints and schedules, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to mentor and help develop other project managers.
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pre-employment drug screening.

Work Environment

• Travel to project sites on frequent basis. May include day trips or overnight, extended travel from time-to-time.
• Additional hours beyond 45 per week may be necessary as workload’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

Civil/Structural Engineer

This person will work on multiple projects with other engineers and designers and be responsible for adhering to schedules and budgets for each project. We are looking for candidates that are highly self-motivated and detail oriented. To accomplish our project objectives, this position will require you to work in teams and have strong communication skills. Design experience with structural steel and foundation design is required. Experience with 3D drafting and analysis software is also required. RISA and Revit experience strongly preferred. This person will be licensed as a civil or structural engineer and has a BE/BS in Civil Engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
• Active License as a civil or structural engineer
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry or the equivalent thereof.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• PE License Preferred

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Cary, NC


Job Description
Our Raleigh area office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the specification and general arrangement of machinery and equipment for heavy industrial production facilities. Experience with bulk material handling equipment and/or conveyor design is strongly preferred. Experience with Autodesk Inventor is desired. This person will work on multiple projects with other Designers and Engineers to support our client’s projects and schedules. The candidate must also have strong communication skills and be able to coordinate with other disciplines in order to ensure overall design accuracy. We are looking for candidates that excel in a team environment and that are highly self-motivated and detail oriented. EI certificate is required, a PE license is preferred.


Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET)
• 5-7 years of related experience; or
• 3-5 years of related experience plus a E.I. certificate; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience related to the discipline.
• E.I. Certificate or PE license is preferred.

Electrical Designer II

Location: Cary, NC


Job Description
Our Raleigh area office is seeking an Electrical Designer II to provide CAD and technical electrical design assistance as needed to the Mid-South Project teams.  The Designer II will work with minimal direct supervision from Lead Coordinator or Project Engineer to analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete new designs.


Responsibilities Include
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Working knowledge of industrial power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, lighting and receptacle layouts
• Attend each monthly engineering staff meeting.
• The Electrical Designer II will be a team player, will maintain a cordial and cooperative attitude in the department and in the company and perform all other related work, as assigned or as required.


Education and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will have journeyman electrical contracting experience with extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code, knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy industrial electrical installation means and methods and will be looking for an opportunity to move from the field into an office role. Senior electrical designers with this type of installation experience or an intimate knowledge thereof are welcome to apply. Related educational training is a plus.
